OfferZen’s hiring process is an important part of our culture. We care deeply about our teams and the people who make them up, which is why we create a welcoming and friendly environment throughout the interview process. Because a positive candidate experience is our priority, we work hard to give you timely, and honest feedback as you progress.

Note: Although we strive to be as expeditious as possible in our hiring process, the speed of the process can and does vary from role to role.

Apply online

You already made it to this stage!

Timing follow-up: within 3 days

Pre Screening questionnaire (role-dependant)

Our first engagement! We want to get to know you better.

Timing follow-up: 3-5 days

Goal: Some candidates will be sent a pre-screening questionnaire relating to the position to complete and return to us within a specific time frame. The questionnaire and answers are kept within the candidate's Greenhouse profile.

Our Recruitment partner will always let you know via email if you need to complete a questionnaire.

Since we communicate via our Applicant Tracking System called Greenhouse; our emails may sometimes land in your spam folder.

Screening Interview (Zoom/Google Meets/Phone call)

Our first meeting! We want to get to know you better.

Timing follow-up: 3-5 days

Goal: To understand your experience, motivations, and aspirations. We also share more about who we are.

Before diving into more in-depth interviews, you’ll typically have one or two shorter conversations over the phone or video call. These will usually be with a Recruiter and then with either the hiring manager or peer on the team, and are designed to assess key skills you’ll need for the role, and share more about OfferZen and the role.

What to think about at this stage?

  • Think about the reasons you’re interested in working at OfferZen

  • The different role(s) you have been in

  • How your experience relates to the role you have applied to

  • What success looks like to you in the next 2-3 years

  • What values you are looking for in your next role

  • What company culture means to you

Remember, this is also a perfect chance for you to explore what it means to work at OfferZen and any specifics about the role you've applied for.

The call should be 30min - 60mins.

Competency Interview/ Technical Interview

We are always excited to have an in-depth interview with you and always appreciate your time! Although we take a deeper dive into your skills and experience during this call, it’s also meant to be warm and friendly, and gives you the opportunity to get to know us better too. If there are specific questions we need you to prepare for, we will send these ahead of time.

For technical roles, you will have a Technical Interview, which is a great way for you to showcase your creative problem-solving skills by working on a project/ exercise. We do this by sharing a small piece of code with you and some instructions for the call 24 hours prior.

Timing follow-up: 3-5 days after your screening call/ questionnaire submission.

Goal: How you think and solve problems within your field of expertise.

How: In-depth conversation with the hiring manager and/or team to get to know you and share more about the role.

During the Competency Interview, you will meet with the Hiring Manager and possibly an additional member of the team.

This chat will take 60 minutes.

Take Home Test

Our take Home Tests are a great way for you to showcase your creative problem-solving skills by working on a quick project/ exercise. If you have any clarifying questions on the assignment, please reach out to the Hiring Manager.

Goal: How you think and solve problems within your field of expertise.

How: For every role, we have a different written assignment/project.

NB: We give you 2-3days to complete the assignment. We do acknowledge though that life happens, sometimes, so get in touch with your dedicated Hiring Manager if you need more time, and we'll sort something out.

Simulation Day

What is a Sim Day at OfferZen? The "simulation day" a.k.a Sim Day is a day we invite you to spend a day (or a big part of a day) with the OfferZen team to help tackle actual business challenges. Taking the time to do this helps us and you feel really sure about the match.

Goal: We give you a fun opportunity to work on a real-life project with your OfferZen team. We have found that actually doing the “real” work with a candidate is by far the best way of sharing insight into what a day in the life at OfferZen is like on the job. The objective of the Sim Day is twofold: firstly for us to see if you are a good match for the role and the team; and secondly for you to get a (hopefully compelling) taste of what it is like to work at Offerzen.

The Sim Day takes anything from 2 hours to 8 hours. Your Hiring Manager will let you know ahead of time in order to coordinate the best date and time for you and the team.

Offer Stage

Before making an offer, we will ask you for reference check details, and confirm your notice period in order to finalise the process.

This includes:

  • Reference Checks - The Hiring Manager or Recruitment Partner will contact references before proceeding.

  • Official Offer - This will be sent to you via our digital signing tool. The offer letter will include information about OfferZen, your role, the salary and benefits and any relevant information you need prior to signing.

Feedback

As candidates ourselves (at one point), we understand that waiting in a recruitment process, with no idea where you stand is not great.

We wouldn't want you to feel this way, which is why we'll strive to get feedback to you as soon as possible after various interview stages (which can vary between roles) either via email or Whatsapp, but we prefer to talk to you on the phone.

Don't forget to give us feedback as well:

  • Were we transparent about what to expect during the process?

  • Were we timely in our communication and scheduling of your interviews?

  • Were we accessible and responsive to your questions?

  • If your experience with us doesn’t meet the expectations that we set with you, did we own our error and do our best to rectify it?

    • PS. Please be aware that the stages might vary per role :) → Just ask your Recruitment Partner/ Hiring Manager

Did this answer your question?
