OfferZen’s approach to background and technical checks depends on the hiring service you use.
OfferZen does not perform pre-employment background checks or technical assessments for candidates on the Marketplace.
Companies are responsible for completing their own due diligence, including but not limited to:
Background (criminal record, education, and credit) checks
Employment reference checks
Technical assessments, where applicable
In South Africa, we can recommend these services that perform background checks:
In the Netherlands, we recommend companies follow these government guidelines if screening employees. If you need a certificate of conduct (VOG) from the Dutch Minister of Legal Protection, you can request that the employee obtains this.
Embedded ✅
In our Embedded service, OfferZen recruiters coordinate background and reference checks as part of your end-to-end hiring process. Technical vetting is not included in the Embedded service and should be managed by your internal team.
All developers placed through OfferZen Contracting are pre-vetted for technical skills and experience needed for the specific role. OfferZen will also facilitate background checks and provide Employer of Record (EOR) support to ensure compliance and smooth onboarding.
